They way you get through stuff Dylan, you need a hardtail, with one gear. It'll save you a shedload of money, and you might find you have more fun too ;o)
Dlyan, ref the ISIS, I'm amazed you 've got 7 months out of BB, Mine all lasted 3 months, regardless of model, cheapo FSA or RF sig.
I've had the XT hollowtech 2 on since June and had no problems at all with the bearings. The Hone looks good too, speaking as a fellow 'large biker'.
Another possibility is the new ISIS bb that FSA et all are bringing out. They're like the BB bearings on the new XT/ RF ( external bearings ) but are designed to work with ISIS cranks.
As the new bike for tonights ride, you'll still climb like a sloth on valium!
Seriously you get 3months, I'm honoured then for sure, wading through water with the BB submerged down help in the woods hey :)
the GT SUCKS, bike setup wasn't right, within 2mins I had Zero brakes ( V's ) and my right hand is still hurting from trying to brake, I do say Trying, bouncing off roots and throwing me off the bike.
And sofar Mick, Pete's score is your Front Forks, and my rear Pivot point, hmmmm not happy.
hopefully back tommorow, got a ride booked up with a mate, so I sure hope so.
Got the bike back today, bike felt well Strange on the front fork, just outside the LBS bunny hoped down 1 kerb, rebound adjuster shaft, popped out like all the way and Oil to, Stripped it to have a look at it, and reassembled and it's DEAD :(
Can't adjust rebound anymore, it's stuck on SLOW, so slow the entire shock is pretty much locked out :(
going to keep fiddling, might just have to much Oil in the leg, if not Fix them or New Forks ??
