My mate has a 2004 enduro expert. Now has worn out the front sealed brgs. Labelled enduro 6901llS. The last part is the brg identifier. apart from a LBS, anyone sourced them from elsewhere? Easy to replace yourself?

www.bsl.co.uk Give your local branch a ring & they will be with you in a couple of days. Not sure how to get the old ones out yet - jobs on the cards for the next week or two. If there's a knack I'll post.

OK so the link does not work.

remove aluminum end caps
- gently tap one end of the aluminum axle forcing the bearing out of the opposite end of the hub
- reinsert the axle into the hub shell and remaining bearing
- gently tap out the second cartridge bearing
- service/replace the bearings/axle as necessary
- find a section of tubing which matches the OD(outer diameter) of the bearing
- gently tap the bearings back into the hub shell making sure that the piece of tubing does not contact the hub seal
- check the hub for axle play, or friction. loosen or tighten the bearings as required
- install the end caps
- ride

sorry to sound like a dumbass, but I am also having problems with play in my 4 month old stout hub. How do you even get the end caps off? I had a quick look and they don't seem to be threaded.

Weezer, I got them from a local brg supplier. £8 for the 2, their the same as fitted to a Hope bulb hub, you pay a £10 from chain reaction - go figure. I'll try to find a link that helps you source sealed brgs just from the dimensions, if you can't read the iden on the rubber seal

If you can't find any tube to match the outer diameter of the bearing, use a car wheel spider. Use the width that is just smaller than the OD. Its not the prettiest way of doing the job but it got mine done damage free

£5.87 ea from BSL + p&p. Bearing No. is 61901-2RS. I recieved SKF bearings which are a reputable manufacturer. With regard to fitting them it's worth investing in a set of parallel punches or at least one - suggest 4mm (sometimes called pin punches). You will need them when you get round to replacing pivot / link bearings which you sure as hell will.
