Sooner or later i will need a new commuter bike, my current steed (Cannondale Redshred) is a bit small and is wearing out rapidly, most notably the rims. I an considering a Kona Dew Dee-lux which is a hybrid, disc and such like. I don't have any concerns about the frame but i have no experience with 700cc wheels and i am concerned about how much abuse they can take. I weigh around 15.5 stone, preffering brute strength over finesse when it comes to riding, in the past the wheels are one of the fist things things that have gone wrong, so i usually choose heavier rim to begin with. Obvioulsy i'm not about to go bonkers off road, but the ride to work does go "off piste" in places. Any thoughts?
