Why do chains only have one pin that is removable......... waste of time if u ask me!!!! Why don't shimano use the black pins in every link so if a link does snap u can just take it out?

You have to use new pins to rejoin, i've got some spare if you need them due to changing to SRAM years ago, where are you from Peter I can send them to you.

you can pete. if you split a shimano chain, you're supposed to rejoin it with a new joining pin. and it doesn't matter where you split the chain. ;-)

Why does nobody ever read the instructions? Use a special pin to join them, break them anywhere _except_ the special pin. Don't rejoin them with the pin you pushed out, it'll probably break.

Yeh. buy sram but not hollow pin shit or hollow link. They bend and get mushed every time you try and break them! Rejoining them is a distant dream.

Just bougth a new shimano and Dr Jekyll has kindly donated some spare pins but shall go sram next time.
Running a SRAM 7.0 hyperglide cassette and have been told these are far better than the shimano XT and cheaper, bonus!!!!!! :o)
