But how much faster would you be on a Whyte....??

Don't get me wrong here, the VT is an excellent bike, you pays your money and takes your choice....

I'm not sure how well the new Enduros climb. Nobody seemed to have a climbing problem on the old ones...

Yes the performance increase is worth the money.
The forks on my wyhte 46 do net seem to flex at all.
As to the bike computer I have managed to fit one onto the bottom of the forks with no real problems.
If you are interested I can e-mail you a picture.

Yes please, its quit a big issue for me as to wether I get the Whyte 46 or something else.

What type of rides have you done with the 46 ?

Do you think the 2005 version is better than the 2004 ? (i.e stand over height, back end and paint finish)

You seem pretty set on the Whyte Dave. It does seem like a great package but from what I've heard it's almost too efficient for it's own good. I know that sounds strange but how detatched do you want to be from the riding experience? If you want to go as fast as possible with as little trail feedback and interference as possible then it would be ideal, but if you ask me, where's the fun in that!?

My only advice would be to get a good long test ride on proper trails first. Then try something else and test ride the Whyte again. £2700 is a shit load of dosh to get it wrong.

IMO the best ride for a longish travel all day full susser is the Turner 5spot. For £2700 you could get a decent build up. Having ridden one at Glentress I couldn't recommend it highly enough, it made me look like a good climber and descended like a dream, but was still involving and fun. Try one - you won't regret it.

I love my 46. The fact i don't have to worry about the bike twitching or getting out of shape lets me worry about other things like explaining to my wife why i want to go out for the forth night in a week! Geeee i love that bike.
