Anybody had any problems with the straps on the supposedly bombproof Dakine Apex backpack?
I had mine out on Saturday for only its third ride and the chest strap disintegrated away from the left shoulder strap, leaving me with two buckles and nothing to attach them to. I bought it online at backcountry.com in the US who say its a manufacturer problem but Dakine's UK distributor says there's nothing they can do except send me a new buckle, of which I already have plenty.

Any advice on how to sort out transatlantic warranty issues gratefully received...

Don't buy stuff in the US unless it specifies a global warranty. Or, move to the US
