Anyone know of a child carrier that fits either a 1997 mount vision Pro or an early Whyte PRST-1. If not anyone know a good child seat that fits full suspension bikes

This is tricky because I coundn't find one that actually fitted my Cannondale Jeckyl. Because of the suspension unless you can switch it of it becomes a tad unwieldy! I gave up and went for an Adam's trail-a-long (c£100) with a back rest (£10) to strap in a sleeping child. It can also be adapted to hold any child seat by bolting directly onto a seat post. The advantage of a trail-a-long is that you can do all your usual rides and swap with her indoors.

This isn't as good as a Burley trailer for tiny infants but it did the trick for me. I have seen a more recent child seat design which did look more logical for a full susser - I'll see if I can track it down on the web.

you get those buckshee looking child carriers that fit on the seat tube, so if you have a seat tube then you could fit one. although your child gets catapulted up and down and round about which is a drawback. your seat tube may also snap.

the ones that go on the top tube look pretty bad.

-your bike will handle like an overladen wheel barrow
-your child acts as a windbreak, fly and crud catcher

I have that Argos one and it is great. Much more stable than the rear fitted ones, as the weight is in the middle. Safer because you can see what the child is doing, and also have your arms around them all the time. They also love it becasue they can see where they are going.

Anyway turkey, how fast do you envisage travelling with a small child on your bike?

i've not been able to find a rear mounted child seat, suitable for full suss bikes, so its either going to have to be on te top tube or a trailer type of thing.
