mmmm

I see X.0 triggers are coming

I like this particular bit of spin

"The carbon cages are backed and rimmed with a "carbon alternative" to protect the otherwise brittle carbon from chain rubbing and impact"

that'll be plastic then ;-)

LOL, they'll call it a 'composite' though.

yeah lol

give the plas.. sorry composite a carbon effect pattern and behold.........

Grilon was born

Even I like the sound of the SRAM XO cassette that sits on an anodized red carrier.

It's the X.0 shifters that interest me. Completely rebuildable unlike the X-7/9 triggers. Which would have come in handy the other week, when I binned an X-9 shifter because of a broken lever.

and the casing is made of REAL carbon fibre

hmmmm

I want, but they're gonna be expensive

It's not if they do spares, it's if you can actually get them.

So how long do you reckon until they do a full high end groupset?

well, it's close I'd like to think, but it'll be Truvativ cranks though

Saying that, I always liked the gloss finish on the old Stylo Team cranks

Truvativ cranks, that's a bit of a downer. If they're going to compete with XTR they'll have to produce something special. Maybe with a BB that lasts more than 6 months and a finish that doesn't come off on the third ride.
Althought I'm a SRAM fan, and I'm sure there going to be very pimpish, but $225 USD's, which will convert to around yes £225 UK EACH is alot of money to knock 30grams of your bike :)

Sram ATTACK and Rear Deore / LX is working perfectly for me, so why spend more ??

Sorry I'm not a bike snob :) unless there is a real performance advantage.

Some of us like to have the best Dylan. I get more pleasure from spending money on my bike than I do sticking it in the bank and watching it grow very slowly. If there weren't idiots like me around to spend money on XTR and the like, LX wouldn't get HTII and flippy shifting (not sure if that's a good thing).
Hey I've got Zero in my bank, just find better things to spend it on ( to me that is )

Even if I had the spare money, I still wouldn't spend it on upgrades like that.

but each to there own, LX getting Flippy shifting, hmmmm dunno either.

The Stylos have had a couple of good reviews aith the newer oversize bearings
I have Truvativ SS cranks on my road bike

I'm not knocking them in general Alan. I just think that they need a high end crank to complete the range.

the original SRAM disc brakes

what ever happened to these and Grimeca 8's?

these two and the 4 pot XT were all the same brake
This member’s stats are private
Who stole them from who?
Show/hide user stats
Well the Grimeca 8 was out months before the Shimano XT and the SRAM was a licenced copy of the Grimeca. In fact Grimeca made them for SRAM. Maybe Shimano pinched a patentless design, or maybe the brake was a joint project between Shimano (who had no hydraulic disc brake at the time), and Grimeca (who had a huge amount of experience in MTB and vehicle brakes).
