I'm planning on buying a bike through this government's wonderful tax-free plan. Which would you recommend out of these 2 bikes?

I won't be doing anything too hardcore on it, hence the limited budget.

cheers,

Alex
The GT for SURE, I've got a 2002 Vulcan although the newer ones are better frame wise, the GT is better Frame wise.

what dylan said, the gt frame is actually very nice... and this year it's ready for you to put discs straight on. it's also pretty damn light for the cash.
Yep the GT similar size outta the shop for £250 is lighter than my £650 Trek 6500 Seriously.

which I found kinda stupid.

The original fork SUCKS unfortunately.

I had an aggressor 3 for 18 months and it was excellent value
Only needed to replace the bottom bracket and pedals after general wear and tear
Id recommend the GT
The forks do suck though

Thanks guys, and if i wanted to replace the forks at some point for better ones, what would you recommend?

Woah! Just had a look at the price of forks! £1200 just for the forks - maybe I'll wait a while before replacing them :)

£1200? When you return to this atmosphere take a look at the price of some Marzocchi MX Comps or similar. Expect to pay £200 to £300 depending on what 'extra things' you want the fork to do i.e. do you want lockout, rebound control etc. They're not the lightest forks around, but they are stiff, plush and are fantastically well sealed and with 105mm travel would complement the aforementioned GT nicely.

Or jsut get a carrera fury for £400.
Amazing spec, great bike and nice frame.
Dom, year old thread, the halfords HT frames have improved greatly, Outta the 2 I'd go Vulcan, I'd actually like the Fury too.
