I've got a 60mm Azonic stem on my bike and its good but I think I want to go a touch shorter to allow myself to have a slightly more upright position on my bike when tackling downhilly, technical and twisty parts.
I like the Raceface Diablous stem as it comes in 50 and 30mm sizes. Would the 10mm reduction have any real effect or would it be worth going for the 30mm? Plus Do you reckon that kind of stem is a bit over-kill on a trail bike? Anyone know of something around 40mm and 25.4mm diameter clamp?
I can't do that as theres not enough room. I agree that 10mm isn't much and 30mm is a lot but its finding something in-between which is proving tough. I did go from a 75mm to a 60mm and noticed the difference. Ideally I'd like a stem testdrive!
I've been using a Truvativ Hussefelt stem for a while now, I think it's about 40mm. Seems tough and means I can actually reach far enough back to get off the seat on the steep bits.
