Im considering upgrading my Hardrock sport for a full susser, I will probs have around 1k and have taken a peak at the
FSR XC Comp, what else should I be looking at ?

Buy a basic FSR XC and fit hydro discs, the Comp has cables. Trek Fuel 80 is worth a look.

are the rims Disc ready on the basic FSR XC ? I have a set of Mavic 717's on Deore hubs, are they better than standard FSR XC ?
and finaly :-) is that the only difference between XC and XC Comp ?

You can get a Base Mongoose for £900 area aswell, scores top marks all parts are okay.

Manitou Splices, 30mm decent damping and lockout 100mm, just heavyyyyy. much the same as the Base FSR's.

Dawes do a nice full sus for around £900

Check Decatholon aswell if there is one near you, a very nice one for £1200 I think there is a cheaper model to.

Sell the hardrock on E bay and use the cash to upgrade your next bike,

Take a peek at some of last years models, Kona, some deals on Orange @ Sunset bikes,
try the ads in the mags and you may find a bargain
Winstanleys are offering the Marin rift zone for 1195.00

I like the look of the marin bike, seen a lot out on the peaks. I have a good experience with the spesh though.....damn decisions...

2004 Kona Coiler from paulscycles.co.uk for £850. Use change to upgrade rubbish stock pedals / headset / etc.

Heavier than the FSR though.

Sell your old one & add the £1k and buy this or similar:
