After quite a prolonged period of choosing my next bike, I have gone for an Giant NRS 2. Sorted. I pick it up next week some time.
I will picking up my new pride and joy in my car and would like some further advice regarding a roof rack cycle carrier.
The roof rack bars on my car are 70mm wide and herein lies the problem. I don't seem to be able to find a system that will fit a wide bar? I ditched the rear cycle carrier when I got rid off my old bike and besides, it didn't fit very well over the fat a*se of my car.
I have a new Renault Megane. The roof rack is specifically for this car... not sure whether I can get another one that would fit the fixings on the roof?
Don't particularly want to fork out for another set of bars. Unless this is my only option and someone can suggest if I can get other roof bars to fit my Megane?
I had the same problem with my new Senic. Ended up with a full Thule system. Try http://www.thule.com/frames.asp?id=8590 They make bars and racks to fit about everything. I'll need to sell the Renault roof bars which only fit Renault bits
Thanks for all the advice. Eventually found a website that sells a cycle carrier for roof bars up to 80mm wide. Ordered it and got it the next day.

All I've got to do now is wait for the bike to be built and go pick it up with my new cycle carrier!!! (And probably smack it straight in to a low bridge or something...)
