reach adjustment on XT dual control levers?

I've got normal sized hands and can barely reach my dual control levers (well, its not comfortable anyway). How is a girly going to manage? - no way!!
Therefore I have concluded there has to be a way to adjust them!

I think there's an allen key adjuster at the base of the lever as you look down on it. Anti clockwise shortens the reach.

you're not wrong!!
I was looking at the wrong service instructions doc on the shimano web site (its a bit misleading actually) - a poor web UI!!!
I wish I could post the diagram on the forum
mucho appreciated!!! should stop my brake finger getting stuck in lock out position!!!
