Does anybody currently use the above lights for night riding offroad? I'm looking for some lights for the fast approaching darkness capable of keeping the trails well illuminated for up to a couple of hours. I'm prepared to spend around the £200 mark. The USE's look good as they are small on its all housed in one unit but do the twin LED's provide a good light source capable of illuminating forest trails and downhill sections???

i personally haven't used them, but i know a guy who was part of a test team for MBR (i think) and they were going to be given 2/10, and so USE pulled them from the test. they weren't the race version, but TBH i'd stay away.

I saw a couple at Catton this weekend and wasn't impressed at all, they just dont seem to throw a good spread of light on the ground the way other lights do.

Bit of a mixed response so far. Anybody got any recommendations for my two hundred squids???

i think one of the probs they had with the MBR test was reliability, and that there was no warning of power loss, and so you were suddenly left in pitch darkness. bear in mind this test was carried out in the alps and you can see why it was a problem. IIRC when battery power is low it switches to a flash every second or so. not useful!

I bought a set at SITS this weekend. Even though they were the Enduro version the light is exactly the same. I used a set at the Exposure Lights Big Night Out and loved them and have been after a set ever since and the chance to get a set for £200 last weekend was too tempting. The spread of light might not be the best around but the run time was more important to me. I used to have a set of Cateye NC250's which were brilliant. 12W and 20W lights that could be individually adjusted in any direction made them good but burn times are low. Once I get the Exposure lights set up in the right place on my bar I reckon I'll soon forget about the fact that adjustability is limited.
