Just bought my second set of Ergon Grips for my new bike, I sold the last bike with them on, and regretted it as soon as I started to ride my new steed.
I bought the first set when I took part at the Merida in Selkirk, was not too sure if they would be any good, but the chaps selling them offered a refund at the end of the ride if you were not satisfied. I kept mine!
So its a good upgrade if you are looking for new grips.
I got the same deal at the Merida in Ruthin, I was unsure about having less control but they were the best, especially when you're riding for 6 hours+. I did the Selkirk one as well by the way, it was the best days riding I've ever done. I did the full Enduro (First full one)and it was just amazing riding can't wait for the next one :-)
Why would you not be able to lift the front wheel up? They fit perfectly into your palm... They're simply more comfortable and prevent numbness in the hands when you're in the saddle all day. I use them for all types of riding with no less control.
