I know this has been done a million times, but can anyone clarify the situation
I am looking at buying the new XT group - I am going to get the M760 front mech, but the rear is confusing me, do I want rapid rise or normal - I will be buying the newest trigger shifters at the same time, I dont want them to work backwards or whatever everyone seems to say!
OK if you're having rapid fire and a normal mech the thumb shifts you to a lower gear, if you have rapid rise then the thumb shifts to a higher gear. This may confuse things but here goes, some refer to rapid rise as 'low normal'.
Could you clarify what 'you' are calling the "newest trigger shifters" XT runs on flippy shifters (one lever to brake and shift) now where pushing the lever down shifts to a higher gear (rapid rise) or a lower gear (normal).
Yeah basically I cant go for dual shifter flippy things, because i am running magura discs, I mean the thumb shifter things that they released last year, before the flippers came out
I used to have some alivio shifters that changed to a higher gear (smaller cog) when i pushed the thumb lever and changed down when i pulled the finger lever, is this the normal or rapid rise?
