I'm thinking of getting rid of my idle outer chainring and replacing it with a bash ring. I do mainly xc but I'm doing more and more street riding.

What do you sugest? I was thinking of e13 supercharger.

Any thoughts or ideas would be grand :-)

Just file all the teeth off your big ring and hey presto bash ring - I'm doing this one by one as a break or bend teeth on my chain ring :)

and i suppose you can always swap it when necesary

I've got a deore square taper chainset.

in which case, get one, and it's easy to swap

Does it matter which bashring I go for? The e.thirteen seems to have the best range of sizes.

not really, but i'm not sure whther i'd go for a PC one or a metal

probably poly, the E-13's are reputed to be rather good, and the supercharger isn't too pricey either, yeah, get one, why the hell not

I think you size it based on the number of teeth on the middle ring it's protecting :-/ it's quite possible I'm wrong though

yeah cos they make them slightly bigger. i ordered the size i thought and it turned out way bigger get the size ring that its protecting.
