Too dull a title and no replies, too iffy a title and lots of - err iffy replies :(
Right for the first time ever I am off on a riding holiday (Freeride Spain) and in my usual style I am having a few last minute doubts.
Whilst the thought of 5 days riding is great I am worried that my arse might not be up to it as I have not done more than the odd two dayer before now. So is some sort of chammy cream a good idea or a waste of time and money.
Second I am guessing it might be a tad cool in the Spainish hills next week so I could do with grabbing a cheap pair of windproof tights, I already have a light weight polartec bib for brass monkey weather so any ideas on waist length tights would be appreciated, thnx PB
Chamois cream is a fantastic purchase, the Assos stuff is the best I've come across, definitely get some.
On the tights front, cheap and windproof tend not to go hand in hand, so I can't really help there. Again, the Assos Airblock tights are lovely, but you will pay a silly amount of money for them. The £80 Northwave offering is quite good though
cheers nick for chammy answer, thats one ticked off my list, I crash too often to be spending £80 on some tights so I guess I will have to hunt around, ground effect do some nice ones at under £50 but I cannot see them getting here from NZ before Wed :(
The ground effect tights with micro fleece on the lower leg and knees are great in cold weather
You might indeed struggle toget them by tomorrow but if it's next wednesday you're goingmight be worth emailing them to see if they can get them to you
I'm off to Spain this weekend and am packing shorts and 3/4s and a pair of tights as a back-up. But then I'm also taking armour. To wear on the downs, which will be warm. Decent tights will set you back some cash-monay and cheap ones really ain't that warm...
Nappy cream is the more easily available version of chamois cream and prevents infection.
Maybe email GE and explain when you're going and what you want and see if there's a way round it...
