Dawes Edge FS Pro 2005

I am in the market for a new bike, my Giant Rincon has served it's purpose and got me back into Biking. I have seen an AD for a Dawes Edge FS Pro for £650 (RRP £950) can any one give me guidance. It seems pretty well specced. Reviews welcome, if it is not this bike I have seen a Specialized FSR Xc 2005 for £549 with a Disc uprade would be about the same money.

I had a 02 Dawes FS Edge Team or similar, way back not to bad a bike to be fair, I think the new ones been improved somewhat, can you find me the Spec on the net for that model ???


It does pain me to say this, but the Spec is likely better, although not a Spec or 4Bar FSR suspension fan.

Good Price too Trance 4 with Deore LX disc upgrade, a change of Pedals all for the sum of £770. Not bad Eh!

I had one of them on my Trek, horrible thing.

Don't try to slow it down with thicker oil, there is No damper in there, I put extra thick motor car oil in mine, Zero effect LOL
