Recently taken delivery of my new matt black Cannondale Rush 600 with upgraded Shimano XT Groupset. It's awesome and I can't get the smile off my face.... however I have an annoying problem :- The Cateye Wireless Micro computer that I used on my old Giant XTC SE doesn't fit on the lefty Cannondale front fork and if I put it on the rear wheel the damn sensor is out of range and isn't picked up!!Doh! Can anyone recommend a good 'Cannondale friendly' ie. Rear wheel or Crank mounted computer that gives you :- Current/Average and maximum speeds (MPH), tripometer, odometer, Time ???
if your running 6 bolt rotors make a little plate out of thin stainless or brass sheet then use a small nut on the back side of the plate to screw the magnet into (on the cateye any way) and bolt in place
Go for one of the newer digital VDO computers. They have a greater range than the older analogue systems. I've never had a problem with mine on Fox Talas forks.
Until I bought a Maverick fork that is! But that's just a mounting issue.
Jon D'oh - I am now thinking of buying a new computer as I have still not found a working solution to my problem. Do you know if the VDO ones run ok with the magnet and sensor mounted on the rear wheel?
Solved!!! I have removed the cable tie from the bottom of the expandable rubber fork protector, mounted the computer sensor unit upside down using just one cable tie pulled very tight that also resecures the rubber fork protector again. All appears to be working well. Will try it on a 20+ mile run later this week. Saved myself £20-£30...marvellous... I am clearly an engineering genius!
