Hi All,

I currently have SR Suntour XCP 75, forks. I find them very soft. I am quite a large rider, I was wondering, which would be a good replacement for the current ones. I would like that there is some movement, but not to mushy.

I have the same forks but I only get a small amount of travel out of them possibly 3 cms and I weigh only 8 stone. Try some Rockshox Tora, one LBS was selling them for £169 :)

How much travel do you get out of your Suntours?

I actually got a set for £148.74!


Rockshox 2005/2006 stuff is excellent and works very well, I already have Pikes and Revelations.

Mine would have been here today only there was a bank holiday hence no parcel force, hope to get them tomorrow now.

I get about 5cm of movement. would the Rockshox, be ok, my mass is over 100Kg

Rou may need a bigger spring or perhaps go for dual air revelations

you'd probably need the stiffer spring - my recons are ideal for someone 10-11-12st

Course the Rockshox will be OK. They're air btw.

you can however get another recon 351 with the solo air chamber - but you can't change the travel

still, cracking forks!

So, if you all think that i need to have air chamber ones ( due to my mass) which would be the ones I should look at.... also, would i be better having dual air???
sorry for all the questions, its just this is the first time I have decided to change something from a stock bike to custom....

coil springs have a coil in them, but the coil's for a particular weight - you can however get the right spring from rockshox or tftuned.com

solo air has a positive & negative spring that is done from one air chamber, dual air you can adjust both separately

the advantage of air is that it costs nothing to increase the pressure, thus making it easy for you to get them stiff enough for your weight (or should you lose a few kilos, let some air out)

Here, no u-turn though, stuck at 115mm
