Just sold my almost new Camelbak Ventoux on evilbay and taken delivery of a new Deuter Attack from Wiggle at a not inconsiderable £63.50 only to find the bladder of this hydration pack is a £19 optional extra, aghh
Talk about being gutted, given how little room there is without the bladder I have a feeling this is going straight back to Wiggle, is this standard practise for Deuter to sell hydration packs with the bladder as an optional extra?

it does say "Hydration system compatible"
but it also says "5L capacity" which i take as it comes with a 5L bladder
i'd send it back, that's a lot of money for a hydration system in the first place - let alone for them to stiff you of another £20

Standard practice I'm afraid, I'm very pleased with my Deuter Superbike. I still have a camelbak mule and just swap the bladder over :-)

I am of the opinion that the 5l refers to its cubic carrying capacity, not the bladder size and lets be honest, 3l of water weighs too much to be lugging up and down, so 5l of water would wreck your back and make your bike handling very dangerous.
I will whip a bladder out of one of my other packs and try it for size but I still feel cheated if you know what I mean, shame really because it fits well and its spine protection is unique.

Just bad research on your part matey.
;-)

I bought a Deuter Race X Air pack for £50 from Snow & Rock. It came with a 2l bladder.

Karlos agreed but in my defense would you normally think to ask does this hydration system come with a bladder or does thje bladder that provides the hydration for this hydration system come as a optional extra.
I mean when I am buying a car, I assume it comes with a fuel tank and that the fuel tank used to power the car is not an optional extra (unless its a BMW);-)

I'd keep it and transfer your old bladder across. They're great bags, but yes – they don't normally come with a bladder.

*laughs at Pauls BMW dig*
Judging by most of the BMW drivers, I'd say that indicators come as an optional extra too.... ;)

Given that it's listed under "Bags - Rucksacks" and not "Hydration Systems" I can't quite see the problem.
MD - Maybe so, but you would have thought that they would have made it crystal clear that it doesn't actually come with a bladder so that misunderstandings and inconvenience like this can be avoided.
Is describing it as simply a "backpack" not clear enough?
I don't know Mike, I haven't been on Wiggle to see the description.
Its under backpacks, like Mike said and doesn't mention a bladder in the description, though there is a bladder in the photograph.
Its all very confusing ;-)
It'd certainly confuse me! Doesn't take much...
same here, espech with there beeing a bladder in one of the pics!
but you really do have to read the description a few times on these things!
