Hi, I was interested in the Marin Point Reyes after a doing of research for a bike which I could use for cycling quite a lot on country roads and light trail riding, but definitely not any mountain biking - Is the Point Reyes a good bike for this sort of activity.
thinking about it though, for that money you could get a real mountain bike with suspension fork with a lockout. By doing that it'll be fine for country roads and towpaths etc but if you want you have the potential to go off-road in comfort? If you're worried about knobly tyres on the road then buy some semi-slicks; ultimately you've still got the potential to do more off roady stuff if you want to. If you buy the Marin then you're limiting yourself. (sorry to confuse matters!)
