Hi everyone

In light of my lady's unfortunate theft, I'm starting to worry about my bike which is locked in a detached standard brick shed, but only secured by one yale lock.

Im considering putting in this wall/floor unit For added protection. Does anyone use a similar thing, im just wondering whether it is that secure?

Additionally, I have my approved lock list from my insurer, and need to get a D-lock. Which one is better ABUS or Kryptonite, Luma, Oxford?

Any advice would be great.

Do you want to stop the bike being stolen, or just satisfy the insurance?

If it's the former, you want an Almax chain (http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/ and a ground anchor. Preferably a ground anchor that's sunk into concrete rather than bolted.

If it's the latter then any of your list will do and I'd just get the cheapest.

Here is a good list of chains to avoid.

Ive said it before and i'll say i again a bike lock is the last line of defence, Make the shed a fortress, heavy doors, big locks, hinge bolts, bared/ blocked up windows, alarm system then a big feck off bike lock and ground anchor
