Ok this may get confusing,

On my old shimano deore shifter (the RH side) When you shifted UP (to a smaller sproket)the indicator went RIGHT. And when you shifted DOWN (to a larger sproket) the indicator went LEFT.

.....Then I crashed and broke said shifter (whoops!!)
So I ordered a new shifter from CRC....

The same DEORE shifter (RH side).
Only this shifter does the opposite to my old one.When you shift UP (to a smaller sproket)the indicator goes LEFT. And when you shift DOWN (to a larger sproket) the indicator goes RIGHT.



Whats up?? are there two different shifters?? or was it just my old one was a bit odd??

why do you need to look at the thing?

if it feels the same, looks the same (apart from the display) and works the same, what's the fuss?

yeah, i know.

but, if i can get one the same id rather have that.

Is it such a big deal for yer brain to deal with? Let it goooooooooo ;-)

Mine deore viewing window, got smashed in wales whilst stacking it, find it impossible to actually look at whilst riding, even the SRAM big window and huge number I still find impossible.

If the gearing is to hard, push the thumb button, to spinny push the other button, easy :)

Try attaching a small mirror to your handle bars and just look at that from now on.

not sure if deores are like xt or not from top of head ... but if there are 2 screws on top of the units ... undo them

take the viewing windows away ,,,,thus solving your problem forever !

Deore's are fixed IIRC
