Has anyone bought a Mottez 6 bike trailer from Wilstow Trailers?.I am thinking of buying and need to know if it will take 5 MTBs 3 Specialized, 1 Orange and a Trek
I have just bought one of these Mottez trailers. It arrived a couple of days ago and so today I spent about 90 mins bolting it together.
All very easy althought the instructions are, in my view, not in the correct order.
I added two bikes abd then towed the trailer for about two Miles before leaving it in the garage.
A nice bit of kit if like me you need to move six bikes, also the storage rack will come in handy when we go on holiday.
You need 2*10mm spanner or 1 spaner and 1 10mm ratchet. Mine came with the hitch already fitted otherwise you need 2*17mm spanners for that.
The number plate needs to be fitted with the light board so buy in advance.
If you buy one I would sugest the following assembely order:
1) fix the feet that allow it to be stood upright. 2) Inset the round plugs on the rear of the luggage rack. 3) Fit the light board and run the cable behind the board. work out how much cable you need by the hitch and then loose the rest by doubling the cable along the chasie. Fix with tape until you are sure before fixing with zip ties. 4) fit the vertical posts, use some lube to get the foam things on. 5) fit the six wheel frames but only finger tignten the nyloc nuts. 6) Tip the tralier on end so it stands on the feet. Now you can access the nuts at the bottom of the wheel frames. 7) Add the mudgards.
I bought mine for 365 GBP inc delivery!
I will post again when I've had six bikes and towed for longer.
Here is a link to a very nice lady selling a 6 bike trailer. Not saying buy it but ask her how she got on with it as i think it is a mottiz trailer,(but I could be wrong).
