Hmm...My dream bike would have to be one that I wouldn't see everyone else riding (so that rules out Giant and Specialized)
I do a lot of enduro events but also love downhilling so it would have to be strong, yet light, with at least 6 inches of travel at either end. It would have to have geometry suited to hours in the saddle, but also able to cope with the saddle being dropped right down and being hammered down the side of a mountain.
I'd have to have a decent set of brakes with decent size rotors (nothing below a 180 because that's just weight weenie nonsense).
It'd have to have good reliable gears, such as X9 or XT (maybe XTR but X0 really is just far too much of a waste of money)
Burgtec hubs (more bling than the King), laced up to Mavic 819s or whatever they are. Or a set of Industry Nine wheels if I could ever locate a dealer!
Crank Brothers pedals (simple, reliable, effective), Hope stem, and Easton CNT finishing kit, because it's the best in the business.
I'm thinking maybe an Ellsworth Rogue (is that the 8" travel one?)... with some 36s plugged into the front of it... Just Float 36s, because who need TALAS? Should be able to build it into a 30lb ish bike.

 lol RBA.
Why say Big earl parts? sawyer?
and yeah i mean bar end caps.
The main thing im not to sure about is the frame. im open to suggestions, something suitable for trails in wales, general jumping around and later on for more freeridey type stuff.

Ah I have them on my bike and am very impressed by the bars as they survived being ploughed into a tree and quite a high speed. The stem just looks nice.

"they survived being ploughed into a tree and quite a high speed"
My easton's didn't!
lol. Ive got Bontrager bars/had bontrager bars on my trek liquid 10, i was never quite happy with the feel of them.
ditch shimano and go sram, tested the x9 - really solid feel, like the old 7 speed used to feel but in 9 speed.
my dream bike is half built and hanging in the loft at the mo... turner 5 spot, fox 125 RLC, LP composite bars and post, King H/S and Hubs, SDG bel air ti saddle, SRAM X9 kit
Anyone want to send me £600 to finish her, in return i'll send you a picture of me on her!!!!!
its got to be a 9foot2 pig board, 50/50 rails, fat nose, fat tail and a big ol single fin.
well getting sram depends on how much money i get by when i need the bike! as im planning to use parts form my old bike. eg. the shimano rear mech!

"Pedals: dmr v12 " put some System EX £12 pedals on instead, they last longer, there lighter and they scored best buy in What MTB or something recently.
V12's just don't last, single bearing and 1 bush and the bush always wears fast and you can't get it.

Errr...dream bike is something light and expensive. I don't care what as it will make feck all difference to a berk like me but will last for a long time, I hope.
Expense and Light, normally doesn't make it Long Lived Lardy sadly, why I slap heavy quality stuff on mine.
( he says, after ordering new Post + Carbon Bars to knock @500 grams off, which I added last week with wheels and felt, so needs must )
Plus Carbon Bars, state excellent shock absorption so in theory I can run the front tyres harder without it killing my hands and elbow, so should role quicker :)
