I'm looking for a workstand for under £70. Anyone got any ideas?
I've seen this first one on Merlin so far: http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/acatalog/Workstands.html

Thats the same as I have, and although I am not convinced it would be sturdy enough for commercial use it is superb for home use.

It is very practical, sturdy, lightweight and holds the bike in just about any position you wish to make light work of any maintainence jobs you do.

It also folds up small should you want to store it away

Highly recommended!
Brilliant stand - get one. The tool kit at about £30 more is worth a look, not great quality stuff but a good start.

I have one of those too, alright for general fettling, but not for heavy use. Good for the money though.

Edinburgh bicycle do a pretty ace looking one for £69.95

its too big and beefy for my needs, as i dont have a garage.

That said i do find myself very much wanting to buy one.

Thats exactly the same one Fraser, I think there are a few floating round just badged differently. My dad got his from Edinburgh cycles and I got mine from Merlin, they are identical in all but name.

ah I see,

It looks much more substantial up close, than it does in the pictures.

I got the one from Merlin with the tool kit and I was surprised with the build quality of the stand, it allows er`indoors to vac underneath the bike without touching it.
The tool kit looks a bit on the cheap side but it does the job OK and cheaper than buying the tools separate. If you do you own maintenance it`s the best thing you could buy. Try fettling the gears with out it ?

Argos do the same one. Get it from there and you can get a refund if you don't like it!
Got the Edinburgh version - totally changed my approach to maintaining the bikes - buy one.

Well that's my Christmas sorted, I'll get that one from Merlin. Although didn't notice Argos sold any - i'll take at the catalogue before ordering.

Don't think I'll bother with the tool kit as I've got a pretty similar one I got in Lidl for 17 quid this summer. Probably lower quality but none of the tools have let me down yet.

Thanks!
Think I'll order it from Merlin as it comes in at £62 including delivery. I'm sure they're far more deserving of the money than Argos too. If it's as good as everyone says It shouldn't need returned anyway.
