I've been looking at the super novas for a while - since they were featured on the hallowed BM front page.
Then the whole wiggle shenanigans happened, and as they are the sole importers I held off a little longer. I will be getting the P99-d's very shortly though - they do look impressive.
i bought them 2nd hand for a lot less than retail and i didn't have them time to go away and do extensive research. i knew a little about them. i just really wondered if there have been any issues in long term use
heh, I've seen the shots on the super nova site. They look brighter than Stevie Hawkin :-)
As Lemon said, I look forward to having cars slow down for me and I won't be quite so fearful of twat car drivers taking the apex (and me out in the process) on the roads round here :-)
I'm sure they're great, but personally i wouldn't ever bother with a bar only light again. An Edison on your bonce is more than enough and puts light where you look.
Got mine a while back - they are Edison killers, believe me. They are known as "Bunny Boilers" to my riding mates because of a distressing tendency to set light to anything they shine on. :P
Like Steve, I really rate a helmet light and I'd go for a good helmet light over the bar lights any day.... but with the P-99D it's a very tough call.
They are standard Cateye mounting (it's actually a Cateye mount in the box) so you can convert to helmet mount but to be honest there's so much light you could blind yourself in the fog. And they are heavier than most because it's a twin light.
Top tip: while you're here, why not check out the review section? *cough cough*
