Does anyone have experience of using caliper brakes (RX100) with V-levers on a flat bar set-up? I've reluctantly ditched the elderly canti-compatible SS5s I've been using, so I need a replacement set.
Logic suggests the feel of V-levers with calipers would be very powerful, on-off braking - or is it the other way round? I don't have any levers in The Box to test my theories on.
Of course, I could rummage through SJS for old stock, but I'd rather have the choice of more modern stuff.
hmm, I thought it was supposed to be t'other way round as V levers pull loads of cable very quickly. I'm not sure what that would translate into in terms of braking feel but i dont think it's supposed to work too well. I'd imagine it would be spongier than a sponge going for the british spongyness record in a jacuzzi at the 2006 world sponge conference. imo
I answered my own question by checking out the spec of the various flat bar road bikes made by Trek, etc. Seems that at least one has these, they'll do the job. Now - where's my credit card....?
Can't be hard to get pre v-brake canti levers. I have an old set of dia-compe ones knocking around in my shed that you can have for the cost of posting if you want.
