..any recommendations?

Hi

I'm after a decent, lightweight (possibly carbon) riser bar. However it needs to be at least 26'' as my current 25'' RF evolve feels a bit narrow. Anyone got any useful suggestions?

How wide are Easton EC70s?

If they're more than 26" get them.

Edit: they are 660mm ie 25.98", get those!

hmm, they look quite nice. Are the carbon versions worth paying more for?

They weigh a whole chunk less and are stronger and stiffer, I'd buy them!

I actually use the Monkeylite SLs on my Titus, and I used to use the EC90 flat bars for racing, but stopped as they really don't like bar ends!

I think the Easton stuff is excellent.

hmm, cheers nick. I might just have to bash the debit card before Mrs Dan returns on Sat...

Just had a look at the Easton carbon bars; bit silly really, the xc risers are all narrower than the EA70's. which is rubbish. I suppose there is the £100 carbon DH bars but then they weigh the same as the alloy EA70's!
I dont know; decision..

I'm just about to buy another riser bar to replace my RF deus xc bar.. which is too narrow.

i allready have a EA70 (27")on another bike which is great so didnt really want to get the same on this (i like trying new stuff)

But theres no other oversize alloy bar as wide and as light as that, unless you go carbon.

closest i can find is "Truvativ Team Riser Bar 06" on wiggle, fraction heavier, fraction shorter 26", fraction cheaper than ea70...

you could also get the truvativ team stem and still come in cheaper than a carbon bar.

I got the Carbon X-Lite XLR 190grams, 660mm length for £50 off CRC, feels nice, absorbs vibrations noticeably better than the previous steel DH bars, if there still there.

That's a pretty random statement , what is cheap and all bars will bend/snap ultimately. They could be cheap because they weigh a ton not because they are weak.

mmm, how about EA70's ! I know you said you want to try new but whats the point of possibly wasting money on something you dont like. Ive just got some EA70s for my 303.

yeah I was considering the EA70's [see above ;-) ]

Might well go for 'em..

Interesting article on carbon bars - test results on numerous bars near the end.

*runs off to buy new strong strong strong bars*

That article's really interesting; I was quite suprised at poorly the Easton carbon jobbie did..

EA70's all the way, they were the same weight as my FSA Carbon's....

I;ll second the EA70, V strong, v light.

EA70 bought from lbs about an hour ago! Hurrah! Only took me a month : /

I had EC70 risers on my last bike and loved them... Bit of a strange looking shape to them when you first fit them, but they're so comfortable when you ride!
