I heard that Wellgo make the genuine DMR V12s and therefore they are exactly the same pedal, except for branding. Sounds likely, since Wellgo manufacture all their pedals in Taiwan.
Nah I've had them both apart, V12 real has 1 sealed bearing on the outside relative to the bike and a bush on the other, Welgo's have 2 Sealed bearings, most V12's die because the Bush wears out.
System EX's also double sealed, sensible weight £12, won some tests aswell in a mag up against £50 pedals, although mainly due to VFM.
The 50/50s are a bit hit and miss. The bearings on some of them feel really rough. I picked up a pair of brand new ones and it felt like they had used small stones for bearings. Others run smooth for ages. Too much of a gamble IMO.
when it comes to pedals or anything of that matter i always choose something from the best sellers picked out on chain reaction. ive just got some v8`s and the grib on them is sound. They dont feel too heavy either, why pay 40 or 50 quid when these will do you for 20 notes!
Another good delivery from CRC, ordered the pedals at 4pm yesterday and they arrived at 9am this morning. Top marks again CRC.
The B38s look really well made, and initially feel much grippier than V12s, only been up and down the street, but they make me more confident bunny hopping. Bearings are nice and smooth too. Wider than V12s, which i always found a bit narrow and my feet arent that huge.
where they the 50/50x (loose bearing) or xx (sealed).
Shame if they're crap I like their pimpy little bodies ;)
No idea if they were x xx or xxx. I spun them, they made some grinding noises and I put them straight back in their box quicker than I would've put down my Grandads dirty nappy.
Only tried V12's so far but they are still smoothe after 2 years with minimum service/cleaning. loc-tite'd the pins in to start with and they're all still there. quite grippy with normal etnies styles shoes (more so than plain pedals). and average weight, good strenth and good looks/colours.
happy with mine but i havent had to try any others. - nothing to fault them with
IMPORTANT - if budget permits, buy a pair of five 10's or the new marzocchi equivilent with Stealth 2 rubber soles. they are awesome. have to lift foot off pedal to reposition foot.found this to be the best combo yet!!!
If we are talking longevity... I've got the classic shimano red DX spd flatties. I've had them about 10 years and never had to change nuffin still sweet as a nut...
