Hi all, it seems Avid pads dont last particularly long, and with my GF now getting some avid discs, I think it would be a good idea to buy in bulk.

Anyone know best place for getting them at a decent price. I wish I could get them from Ebay, as they like $8/ea (£4),instead of £13 here, but all the stores only ship to US.

Additionally, I know I have read it before, but whats the pros/cons or organic/sintered?

How much fertlizer does a brake pad need :p?

sintered last longer.
I use sintered Avid pads. I think if you are a downhillist or alpine rider then you may get issues with the brakes heating up with sitered pads.

Anything wrong with using Fibrax pads?, or should i stick to Avids own pads

Fibrax's sintered worked wonders with my old Hope C2's and the pad life was up to nearly a year with one set. I'll be using them with my Avid's when the time to replace arrives.

Have you tried a shop called bikefridge on ebay? They seem to have avid pads on for £20 for 4 pairs. I've just ordered 4 x pairs of pads for my giant mph and they seem okay.

I have used avids own organic replacements and got pissed off when they lasted one ride round rivington in shitty conditions. so looked into sintered pads, I ended up getting some fibrax sintered pads off ebay for £10.70 delivered with springs thrown in aswell. i think the seller was marksvwshop or something.
Personnally i have not noticed any difference in performance between the 2 compounds yet the sintered pads are looking to last me quite a while.
