Looking for a hydro pack. Didn't want to spend any more than about £35. Anyone use one of these or one of Any other suggestions ? Want quite lightweight with max of 2 litres of water as I'm only out for 2-3 hours max. Plus enough room for the essentials.
not got the one you list but i do have one of these http://www.gelert.com/products/Hydro-Cruise_Pac_2_Litre.aspx the bags well built if not the most comfortable to use, has some nice features like the mesh straps, i was given it so i use it commuting. in all fairness it does the job but the better makes are a lot more comfortable to use.
Avoid 3 Ltr. It hangs low and gets your kidneys some-thing rotten. Your back will kill you, and your kidneys will not thank you. I have a 3Ltr CamelBac Blowfish, and 2 Ltr is all I give it. 2 Ltr + a bottle max. Tim
I have a 3 liter Blowfish and love it. Never had any pain or discomfort. I can put just the one liter in for a short couple of hours ride, or fill it with three for a full day. The only problem I had was finding a replacement buckle for the chest strap, when the GF shut it in the car door. Ended up hacksawing the strap from her hydration pack and fettling to fit mine.
just noticed the blow fish is at leisure lakes in blue for 39.99 ...that would be a good buy
the 3litre only hangs low if you do not adjust your straps to suit it ... i find i have to adjust the straps as the bladder emptys or it hangs down further
ive got 3 bladders i use in my ... the pack expanding and shrinking is great it means i can just keep my standard kit in it leather man/multi tool tube etc ... and just add to it as the length/weather dictates rather than moving everything from one bag to another as you always for get to move summat
