Brand new tyres and brand new inner tube, and I got a thorn in the rear tyre this morning.

So I'm thinking of getting some tyre liners, I've found Panaracer Flataways and Mr Tuffys.
Do they work?
Do they affect the ride much (if at all)? How much do they weigh?
Which ones are better?
Are there others on the market?

i've not noticed them when using them, but i tend to put them in heavy wheels anyway

they do stop punctures brilliantly though, i only ever get snakebites now, and i think even they're reduced

i use the slime equivalent liner strips

Flataways are great IME but as Mike says pinch flats are still an issue.

Considered tubless e.g. Stans?

Hopefully the Panaracer Rampage with the fancy edge design should prevent pinch punctures, I just want to stop the thorns now!

Don't fancy tubeless.

They'll definitely stop thorns; I rode across a bramble patch using the Slime variation without a hint of hissing air.
