I remember reading that helmets under normal wear and tear should be replaced every so often (5 years rings a bell). Is this the case as I've probably had mine nearer 7 now?

Bell and Giro both recommend replacing your helmet every 3 years or after any serious knocks or accidents.

i work on every 3 years, unless it takes a big knock then its quicker.

My Pneumo needed replacing after less than a year as I used it as a brake. Better that than my bare head though.

I thought you used Goth juice on your hair HRP, made from the tears of Robert Smith.

I'm on my second helmet within 4 years.

Sounds like I have an excuse to buy a shiny new helmet then.

Anybody got experience of the MET Veleno? Will be replacing a 5th Element which I'm not sure really fits me as well as it should having tried on an E2 the other day.
