Was just in Evans and noticed some Topeak Rocket and Micro pumps. The Micro was for Road use and good to 160psi and the Rocket was for MTB up to 110psi. What's the likely difference between pumps if they are specific for one discipline?
If I only wanted one pump for both types of wheel, which would be the best bet?
i like blackburn pumps, seem indestructable, last ages, pump a fat tyre up quickly...
not too good for really high pressures, so may not be too good for you
i've got through too many topeak pumps for me to consider them again, even though i'm currently using a "peakini" which is basically plastic, i must say it's a good pump, even if the whole thing is made from plastic
the only crank bros pump i had fell apart. i lost a specialized pump, which was very good...
I have a Topeak Road Morph, best pump I've ever had. It fits in a camelbak just fine and inflates tyres easily in seconds (Road or MTB). I just can't be arsed with mini-pumps. I've had the pump seven years now too, so it's durable. I do also have a little Crank bros mini-pump, which I got for quick blasts on the bike and fits in a jersey pocket, works ok but it's bloody hard work! I've only bothered with it a couple of times.
I have a road morph too, good pump, comes with a pressure gauge which helps take out the guesswork though it's not too accurate, iirc it under reads by about 5psi, but then it's designed for high pressures.
