If you can still find one, the old CRUD DH fender will work in tamdem with a CRUD catcher. Only you don't use the supplied fittings, just zip tie it to the crown.

I fitted a SKS shockblade to a Fox 36 using a lefty adapter - this is held on with two zipties. This should work fine on any fork where you can't get a plug to fit inside the steerer tube because the hole diameter is too small.
