New paintjob required

I've had my current frame, a Cove Stiffee, since about 2002. I've thrashed it up hill and down dale throughout that time and each time I [fell off and] scratched it, lovingly selected a sticker and put it over the scratch. Now there seem to be more stickers visible than paint. Does anyone know where I can get a decent, hard-wearing paint job done? I also want a new set of Cove decals - will I be able to get whoever does the painting to source and apply these for me? I'm terrified I'll cock it up (I could never get those bloody Airfix transfers to work!).

Argos do respraying and decals for most bikes.

Quite pricey but a fine job to be had from these guys.

If it's aluminium, you could always have it anodised instead if you're certain of the colour. Any local firm should be willing to do it for you at a price.

Of course it's aluminium, it's a Stiffee.

I'm dense... :o/

Can you get anodising added later?

I don't quite know what you mean, but anodising can be done at any point in the bikes life, as long as the frame is clean and free of any other coating.

I've heard good things about Vernon Barker.
My bike was painted by Bob Jacksons and its ok, don't know if i'd use them again or not though.

Why's that?

I've already got tons of anodised stuff on my bike... I think getting the frame done as well would look a bit OTT but thanks for all your suggestions

Anodising lasts way longer than your average paint job. And can you really tell the difference visually once all's said and done...?

I'd go anodised every time if I had the choice personally.

I had my adenoids removed as a child, or am i missing the point?
