My old man works in a hardware store on a trade counter and looses count of the number of people that want cheap locks even when warned that they will probably invalidate their home insurance without using a 5 lever lock.... then again i bet you come across it if you do any domestic house bashing,
Just had a bike pinched from my shed, done as much as possible to secure the door, so the buggers just lifted the roof off! Would recommend you strengthen the roof as mine was held in with 3" nails. Is now strapped with metal braces. Thing is where do you stop? If they want it, they'll get it.
That idea about keeping it indoors might have to be longer term ,most bikes these days are lightweight alloy , cant you just chuck it over your shoulder and keep it up IN THE FLAT , ? with you , behind locked doors , with your burgular alarm on ??? and store less precious stuff I.E. (wife & kids etc) outside in the shed.
Well now that the 'lift the roof off tenchnique' has been posted, I can say that Sadbloke sent me some very useful info on security a few months back. One of the first things he mentioned was the vulnerability of the roof thankfully doesn't affect my 'shed' but it's certainly worth looking at.
its the same with garages with asbestos roofs....... under drawing them with ply or T&G should slow them up then again give them a few years and Asbestosis might catch up with the scrotes
