I have a Giant XTC SX and I was thinking about replacing the chain

So I looked on Wiggle and there are quite a few choices and price differences

I thought chains were chains!

Anyone got any advice on what to go for?

9 speed?

SRAM and Shimano are both good chains. Personally I like to use the SRAM powerlink to join the chain.

If your chain has had it your cassette may also need replacing

Started using KMC ones and they seem pretty solid so far and also come with a powerlink type connector. Can also come in a natty gold colour (titanium nitride coating) which is supposed to resist rust better and shift cleaner or something.

KMC are supposed to be great aren't they?  They make really decent motorbike chains or sumink..

I use a Sram PC991 and since trying other brands, Sram chains are the only chains I'll use.

Got a KMC in the car,  trying to eeck a few more months out of my current chain and cassette though as its working fine,  through the winter would be nice but parts here for if not,  so I'll let you know in say 6months or so.

CHEAP was my main motivation,  8speed and resist stretching so bargain.
