Stem
Want a shorter stem for my Enduro

I've a 2005 Enduro with the standard 100mm Thompson stem.

I've been taking my little lad to Chicksands and the like and are tempted by a shorter stem (also the Alps in the summer).

I was just going to buy a 50mm Hope, but now am unsure of whether to go for 0 or 25 degree lift - any thoughts?

Is it too big a jump from 100mm flat to 50mm 25 degree?

That does seem quite a dramatic change.  I think Thomson do a 70mm in different rises which may be a decent compromise?

Yeah I agree, a 70mm sounds good as a compromise (I'm going to go from a 100mm Race Face to a 70mm Easton Havoc myself, in the new year).

I had a 50 on my enduro and it was a nightmare steering was waaaaay too fast but now have a 70 on and it's grand (for me anyway)

I'd go with a 70mm 0 degree. As said above 50 would just be a bit too short for most things.

What kinda fork is on your Enduro? Unless it's particularly short I don't think you'd need the 25 degree stem.

Jimmy Jazz - Fox 36 Talas RC2.

Sidewinder - I wouldn't be keeping it on for everything, but I'll take the advice and try a 70mm 0 degree first.

Thanks.

A mate has an Enduro with 36s and went for a 70mm 0 degree. Spot on I reckon.
