I run juicy 3's and they are great, the extra's on juicy 5 are a little pointless and might not be worth the extra money, you could spend it on the adapter for a 185 rotor!
3's are just no 2 bolt clamp to attach to the bars isn't it, so GOT to remove your grips, which if you've not go any on yet or there remove, then no real advantage.
Sorry to hi-jack your thread Arry, but i've just managed to pocket myself a few quid, and it's my birthday next week and i've decided to spend the cash on the gt hardtail rather then the saracen. First thing i want is a set of hydraulics and was looking at these, or the 3's your looking at. Which one's should i go for? Or is there anything else for around 50-60 quid each end?
Only joking, I had the LX brakes on my Scott before I changed to the Juicy 7s. they were an excellent brake and the only reason I swapped was because I didn't like the flappy shifters.
If you've got a set of cable levers lying around - BB7s front & rear. Better than 525s (I've had both), you use the same pads as the Juicys on the other bike, and less than 80 quid for the pair.
Tell that to my rear M535 Jimmy, 1 piston moves in and out under braking, but remains in the fully open position, where as the other one keeps winding out, and have to use mole grips to get it back in.
It's only 1 M535, but I'm not going to recommend them, where as my M525 worked perfectly for 3years+++
Didn't have it 3months before it all went wrong, as long as I keep centralising the pads, and don't let them wear out to far so the 1 piston pops out they still work fine, so it's not a issue and I'm not racing out to replace them, I've tried the normal stuff to free them up aswell, STRANGE comes to mind.
The new XT Servo Waves sound great, so aim to go that way when they've had more testing from a mate, K18's are proven, but £120 a shot, compared to £170 for a pair, puts me off some what.
