The love of my life is starting to complain about the battering she gets to her "sensitive parts" (ooh err missus) from riding her hardtail (another ooh err). Has anyone any experience of suspension seatposts? Any recommendations?
No experience of them myself but the one person I know who uses one binned his USE one for a Cane Creek Thudbuster. Looks weird but he reckons it works really well.
I have a Thudbuster LT and it's the best suss post out there, no question. Pricey though at £110-£120! They really do work well and are maintenance free.
Mine is laid in the shed doing nowt but you never know when you may need it.
Do NOT BOTHER with anything less than a thudbuster, telescopic designs do not work for the initial bump, then merely provide a soft landing after you go up and come back down to the seat.
I would fit a carbon/ti seatpost after my experience with a suss post tbh. The one i had was the USE SX shockpost and its the biggest pile of garbage i have ever bought for a bike.
They are heavy, they dont last very long, they have limited absorbtion abilities and they arent cheap to buy. I accept that the thudbuster is a different kettle of fish, but i really believe a correctly setup bike with a quality 'fitting' saddle and carbon/ti seatpost will be money better spent
