Hi, I know there are a lot of threads already about wheels but a quick search didn't give me many answers.
I have a 2006 enduro expert which came with some normal generic hubs on sun SOS rims. Last year in the alps I bent the sun rim so had to buy a new wheel out there. I bought a atomlab trail pimp which seems like an absolute beast of a rim so far. Recently however my rear hub has started to give up the ghost. I am wanting to replace my wheelset (f+r) and keep the atomlab as a spare. I am fairly light ~ 11st but ride pretty agressively in mainly rocky terrain - peaks and lakes mainly. I won't be doing any drops over 6ft but don't want to have to slow down just because there are tons of rocks infront of me. Fattest tyre I run is a 2.5 maxxis in summer, normally 2.3's. Tubeless is something I would like if possible.
My options
1) Crossmax SX - the most expensive option but seem pretty good and have UST
2) DT swiss EX1750 - look brilliant and light weight but I checked them out in bike shop and rim profile looked very skinny and the shop said they dint easier
3) Mavic EN521 on pro2's - supposidly "enduro" class rims balance between strength and weight? No ust
4) Mavic EX823 on pro2's- heavier than others but will be tough, have wide rim profile and are ust compatible
5) Sun singletracks or whatever the eqivalent is sun make now - equaliser 29???
There you have it, lots of info, any suggestions welcome, only chose pro2 because of good reviews, any good alternatives?
