I'm looking for a helmet for my 2 year old boy (3 in a couple of months). Any recommendations? They've a few on wiggle - With brands like Met, Giro and Specialized but i haven't got a clue. Anybody got any experience of these? Ta.
I'd suggest taking him into a shop and letting him choose. They're all built to the same safety standards, so the key is getting one that he actually wants to wear
Halfords worked for us. We could let the girls try them on for size, there was a choice of colours and they were a decent price too. Key to getting them to wear them for us was mum & dad wearing theirs in front of them.
I agree with Mike D and Foxy, get them to Halfords where they can try on choose a suitable colour/graphic. And in Halfords the staff will measure heads and advise to make sure you've got one that fits right.
I'd recommend a pair of decent cycling gloves with good palm protection too for the wee fella - they've saved Goonio Jr from a few nasty rashes thus far.
my kids both need new lids, but a local shop has a pretty good selection of helemts for the kids, plus the owner still thinks i work in the shop downstairs so i get a decent discount (i've not worked there for 7 years)
Cheers for the suggestions. He's got quite a big head (always nicks my hats) so we might even be looking at a more junior one. They all looked a bit crap in toys-r-us when we looked so looks like we'll have to pay Halfrauds a visit
