Just a point of possible interest, the halo freedom wheels come in white too.
And yeah, going 24 will scupper your bb height and also look stupid.
Either dt 5.1 hope hoops or halo freedom's I would say. (I've been using halo freedom rims for a while now and they seem pretty good, nice and sturdy.)
If you want to go tubeless, why don't you just put a standard Stans' Rimstrip onto either the DT5.1 or the XC717 - I've converted both these rims and run them fine with UST tyres. I don't use any latex here in the rocky Dark Peak (very few thorns about). I used to get pinch flats every few rides. I've since had no punctures in 14th months and I am now able to drop my tyre pressures from 40 to 30 psi which gives me far better grip.
) but my DT 5.1's on Hope Pro11 seem very tough indeed.
