Sorry - didn't check for a few days - been busy with clients this week!
Badblood - are you a mate of Scott's? He's a great lad - not staying ith me for a few weeks - he's down helping us set up our new site on the coast, trailfinding and clearing - that sort of stuff!
Mike, we've got some of the most enjoyable techy trails which I've come across in Europe, with plenty of switchbacks etc, and the clients I have had out wth Enduros haven't experienced any turning circle problems (guessing that's what you're referring to?).
I'm keeping my Genius too - it's set up for technical trail riding with 130mm coil forks etc - it was built up from a frameset rather than Scott's more racey original spec. Oh, and I have got a hardtail (Rocky Mountain Blizzard) out here too!! So the Enduro would be an addition to the stable, for specific trails. We have a real variety - everything from highly technical rocky ravines to sweeping flowy singletrack in forests to remote mountain passes - so I like to select the best weapon for the job each day. I would probably aim at something more hardcore/ heavier -but we usually ride up as well as down!
Neil - the Pitch is a great bike too - so good that we have just ordered some for our fleet for client use....but I am a bit of a bike tart I'm afraid; I just love bikes and have a strea of bling running through me that the Pitch just can't satisfy!!
Hey Martin, just found your response, yes Scotty is a mate of mine, met him a couple of years ago through mutual friend. Hes a good guy, offered to get tested to donate a kidney but as wrong blood type. Hope to get out there at some point for a long weekend. say hello to him for me. glad he is still enjoying it!!!
My mate bought a Spesh Enduro a month ago. He specifically asked about fork problems and was told that everything had been sorted. He's off today taking the bike back because the forks loose so much air that he has to blow them up a couple of times per ride. He's not impressed.
That wasn't the original problem with the forks. The first batch had a little bit of glue/threadlock working loose and blocking a valve. Looks like it's not the only problem, which doesn't really surprise me, it'll take a few years to get any fork well sorted and trouble free. They are very light for a big hitting bike, I like them, I'd prefer them with 36s though.
Well, I've got it now, so I clearly came to the decision that I trust the problems are mostly sorted (the thread in MTBR persuaded me on balance too) and that the bike is just too damned sexy to ignore!
In the end I have gone OTT nd went full out for the S-Works - it's awesome, looks incredible and rides like nothing I have had before! Plus, it's nearly as light as my tricked out Genius LTD!
Will be giving it roasting out here on the Spanish trails - thanks for all of your help - come and see us over here sometime - see if the Enduro has stood up t it.....
