Fitted and tested my new set of Hope Hoops DT XR 4.2 Wheels today
Although they feel great; stiff, light and precise, the rear Pro II hub is super noisy. I was expecting it to be loud after reading reviews and forum comments, but not this loud!
Was really self-concious of it out on m local loop this morning, but at least it gave the old red socks a bit of warning I was coming round the corner!
When and how should I go about servicing the Pro II hubs?
Servicing is a long, long, long way off if you've only just bought them
I've replaced one bearing in the freehub in nearly 2 years of use. I ride in a lot of mud during the winter living daarn saarf so use the jetwash weekly.
See the Hope website for diagram, instructions and bearing numbers (on the right of the main page under the technical section). They are simple to service and the bearings are cheap if ordered direct from a bearing manufacturer.
