True true I know there are different sizes it's just so happens I'm running maggie discs on XT brakes the discs are thicker and wider and seem to dissipate heat better than the standard Shimano ones but I'm sure there's a posting talking all about that somewhere else around here! The poor bloke was only looking at trying to put an anchor plate on the back of his bike to get rid of the crappy MD1's this could turn out very expensive and I was trying to think of the cheapest options.

unless u spend loads o hard earned cashage on discs they are gonna b crap n e way so get some decent v's

stay away from Deore Mechanicals, they just don't work. They don't squeal and they have good modulation but they really don't stop you! You can grab a handful of lever and still not really stop.

The Hydraulic Deores are worlds apart, much better than Hope Minis *(cheaper too)but heavier and don't look so "trick". Check out 2002 Orange who are using the cheaper version of the Deore Hydraulic on loads of their bikes.
